About The Position

The Patient Relations Analyst (PRA) at Oak Street Health educates patients about Medicare programs, resources, and affordable insurance coverage options to increase access to care and patient retention. PRAs are insurance experts at their clinics, advocating for patients as they navigate insurance options, coverage, and medical bills. They also support care and outreach teams with Medicare and eligibility questions, and help patients understand their options during Medicare Open Enrollment. The role reports to the Associate Patient Relations Manager or Practice Manager. The position is listed as a float role at various locations. It is full-time, with 40 anticipated weekly hours. The stated pay range is $21.10–$40.90 per hour, with eligibility for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program. The position is eligible for medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, wellness programs, and other resources, subject to eligibility.

Requirements

Ability to quickly navigate and use multiple computer programs, including Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, and Excel.
US work authorization.

Proficiency in non-English languages such as Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken in the communities served, where needed based on center demographics.
Experience helping patients or customers understand insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

Help patients navigate Medicare and insurance issues, including coverage, benefits, summaries, eligibility, and how to get the most from their plans.
Serve as the clinic’s internal resource for insurance questions from providers and staff.
Help patients navigate the healthcare system and resolve medical bills inside and outside Oak Street Health, advocating on their behalf.
Build patients’ trust to advise them appropriately about healthcare coverage.
Manage welcome visits and orientation for new Oak Street Health patients.
Educate patients on applying for public benefits, including Public Aid and Extra Help for prescription drugs.
Support clinic management with operational activities as needed, including scheduling and billing.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Foster patient engagement by designing and executing events, including center tours.
Perform other duties as assigned.
