About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking compassionate, customer-focused individuals to join a leading healthcare organization as a Patient Registration Specialist in the Emergency Department. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference during some of the most important moments in patients' lives. You'll be the first point of contact for patients and their families while playing a critical role in supporting emergency care operations. As a Patient Registration Specialist, you'll receive cross-training across multiple areas of the Emergency Department, giving you a dynamic and engaging work experience every day.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, families, and visitors to the Emergency Department.
• Register arriving patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Collect identification and insurance documentation.
• Collaborate with hospital security and staff to maintain a safe environment.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support during stressful situations.
• Register patients arriving via ambulance or emergency transport.
• Monitor incoming patient alerts and emergency notifications.
• Support the emergency care team by ensuring accurate and timely patient information is entered into the system.
• Respond quickly to registration requests throughout the department.
• Assist in identifying patients and gathering necessary demographic information.
• Work closely with nurses, EMTs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure accurate and efficient patient registration during critical situations.
