About The Position

At WakeMed Health & Hospitals, Patient Registration Representatives are the first point of contact for patients, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming, efficient, and supportive experience. This role involves greeting patients, checking them in for appointments, and coordinating follow-up care at MyCare 365 locations. Key responsibilities include accurately registering patients by entering demographic and insurance information, collecting copays and point-of-service payments, and scheduling appointments. Representatives are expected to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, serving as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and the care team. The position also supports centralized welcome desks and check-in areas across MyCare 365 and physician practice locations. As part of WakeMed, the representative will embody core behaviors such as Respect for People, Teamwork, Commitment & Accountability, Communication, and WakeWay 2 Excellence, which includes reducing waste and improving workflows.

Requirements

  • Availability to cover business hours, days, and holidays
  • A passion for helping others and delivering top-tier service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical setting
  • Comfort with computers and electronic health records (EHR)
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in healthcare registration, scheduling, or customer service
  • 1 year of customer service or administrative experience
  • Healthcare or medical office experience

Responsibilities
