About The Position

TekSystems is hiring 1st and 3rd Shift Patient Registration Representatives for a large healthcare system in Fishers, IN. This role is the first point of contact for patients, requiring an exceptional patient experience in a warm, welcoming environment. The position is based in a 24-hour, 365-days a year ER facility and involves a rotating 12-hour shift, up to 40 hours per week. Team members will be trained to work at the Front Triage Desk, Ambulance Bay, and on the ER Floor, registering patients at the bedside with portable computers. This is a Contract to Hire position.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional patient experience with a warm, welcoming environment
• Check in patients who walk in through the main entrance (Front Triage Desk)
• Check in patients who come in by ambulance or helicopter (Ambulance Bay)
• Register patients at the bedside with portable computers (ER Floor)
• Confirm patient demographics
• Collect/verify all insurance information for accuracy
• Ensure ID/Insurance cards and consents are updated in the EMR system
• Support self-pay process for patients without insurance coverage
• Complete required documentation for Medicare patients prior to admissions, if needed
