The Patient Registration Clerk is responsible for greeting and registering patients, and verifying all patient information and insurance details. The individual must be able to communicate effectively to explain various forms such as patient rights, medical releases, and insurance. This position must maintain a professional and courteous manner towards patients and visitors at all times. The role involves maintaining accurate daily schedules, navigating electronic health record (EHR) software, and obtaining necessary forms and information for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies. The clerk will enter and verify patient demographic and billing information, correct insurance details, and accept payments. Collaboration with other departments is essential to ensure high-quality patient care and maximum third-party reimbursement. The position also requires assisting patients in locating departments and staff, upholding the mission of the Seneca Nation Health System (SNHS), and promoting SNHS positively. A trauma-informed approach is expected, incorporating principles of safety, trustworthiness, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural sensitivity. Participation in mandatory meetings and trainings, adherence to policies and procedures, and maintaining a positive teamwork environment are also key aspects of the role.
