About The Position

The Rehabilitation Secretary provides secretarial support for the rehabilitation department. The rehab secretary will display good judgement, professional behavior and knowledge of hospital policies. This position requires strong secretarial skills, computer skills (data reporting) with proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, as well as a high degree of self-motivation, time management with excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, critical thinking and telephone, skills with careful attention to detail. The secretary will be responsible for assisting with the outpatient speech program through selecting patients from SLP work queue based on established criteria, obtaining insurance authorization, scheduling patient appointments, checking patients in and out, copay collection, end of day close out tasks. Rehab secretary will also be responsible for answering and returning phone calls and faxes throughout the day. This position will be responsible for accurate and timely documentation and communication in patient charts and referrals. This position will help support rehab department team member when needed and assist with tasks as assigned. In addition, provides administrative support to the rehab manager for maintaining department functions.

  • A.A.S. in Secretarial Science; or equivalent experience
