In this role, you'll obtain demographic details, insurance information, and ensure proper scheduling. You'll record patient history while obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients obtaining services. You will be the calm and reassuring presence patients need as they navigate their hospital experience.
Requirements
- 1+ year of clerical experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Effective communication skills verbal and written
- Superior Customer Service skills
- Energetic, approachable individual with a desire to put patients first
- Detailed oriented, able to problem solve and work independently
- Ability to multi-task and perform various registration duties efficiently
- Epic experience
- Must live within a commutable distance to NYP
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics
- Knowledge of medical procedures, routines, regulations and medical terminology
- Experience working in a busy healthcare environment
- Knowledge of Coding: ICD 9, CPT-4, health insurance benefits/requirements
- Some college
