In this role, you'll obtain demographic details, insurance information, and ensure proper scheduling. You'll record patient history while obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients obtaining services. Requirements

  • 1+ year of clerical experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • Effective communication skills verbal and written
  • Superior Customer Service skills
  • Energetic, approachable individual with a desire to put patients first
  • Detailed oriented, able to problem solve and work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and perform various registration duties efficiently
  • Epic experience
  • Must live within a commutable distance to NYP

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, routines, regulations and medical terminology
  • Experience working in a busy healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of Coding: ICD 9, CPT-4, health insurance benefits/requirements
  • Some college
