Patient Registrar-Multispecialty- Brooklyn
About The Position
Make a lasting impression on patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Brooklyn as a Patient Registrar. Register patients for a variety of procedures and appointments, and feel the pride of going above and beyond to help others. In this role, you will obtain demographic details and insurance information, and ensure proper scheduling. You will record patient history while obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients. Most importantly, you will be the calm and reassuring presence patients need as they navigate their hospital experience. This is a Full- time 37.5hr per week position with varied hours of 8:00AM to 8:30PM with a Monday through Friday and alternate Saturdays schedule. This position is located in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. Must be flexible to work and float to other locations if needed at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Medical Group.
Requirements
- 1+ year of clerical experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Effective communication skills verbal and written
- Superior Customer Service skills
- Energetic, approachable individual with a desire to put patients first
- Must be detailed oriented, able to problem solve and work independently
- Ability to multi-task and perform various registration duties efficiently
- Must be flexible to work and float to other locations if needed
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of medical procedures, routines, regulations and medical terminology
- Experience working in a busy healthcare environment
- Knowledge of Coding: ICD 9, CPT-4, health insurance benefits/requirements
- EPIC
