We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Registrar to join our Admissions team. This front-line role is vital to ensuring a positive patient experience by accurately gathering information, assisting with admissions, and guiding patients through the registration process. Your professionalism and care will help create a welcoming environment and ensure accurate medical and financial records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, preferably with coursework in business or office occupations.
  • Strong clerical, typing, and computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in healthcare admissions, patient registration, or a medical office setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Interview incoming patients to collect and enter demographic, financial, and insurance information.
  • Register patients for Emergency Room visits, inpatient admissions, and outpatient services.
  • Obtain required signatures for treatment authorization, insurance assignment, and financial responsibility.
  • Prepare identification bracelets and assign patients to appropriate accommodations.
  • Direct or escort patients to appropriate floors or departments.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-certification when required.
  • Collect patient payments, balance receipts, and provide customer service at the Business Office as needed.
  • Answer incoming calls and support the hospital switchboard after hours and on weekends.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Admissions Supervisor or Business Office Director.
