Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare-related certifications are a plus
Proven experience in patient coordination, referral management, or healthcare administration
Strong knowledge of insurance policies, referral processes, and healthcare regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage patient referrals to specialists, laboratories, imaging centers, and other healthcare providers
Verify patient insurance information and ensure referrals comply with insurance requirements and policies
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and external facilities to facilitate timely appointments and follow-ups
Maintain accurate and up-to-date referral records in electronic health record (EHR) systems
Address and resolve any issues or delays related to referrals, escalating concerns as necessary
Educate patients about referral procedures, appointment scheduling, and necessary documentation
Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care transitions
