About The Position
This role involves providing observation and surveillance of assigned patients using video monitors and a 2-way audio device. The Patient Monitor is responsible for communicating with patients, notifying clinical staff of any changes in patient condition or safety risks, and documenting observations of patient activities, behaviors, and other safety and comfort-related issues. This position is part of the Patient Services department and offers full-time day and night shifts at the UAB Highlands location.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- BLS Provider preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide observation and surveillance of assigned patients.
- Monitor patients by use of video monitors.
- Communicate and/or instruct patients by use of 2-way audio device.
- Notify clinical staff of any changes in patient condition and/or safety risk level.
- Complete documentation of observations of patient activities, patient behaviors and other safety & comfort related issues.
