About The Position
This is a full-time position in the Patient Services Department at the UAB Highlands location. Both day and night shifts are available. The role involves providing observation and surveillance of assigned patients using video monitors and a 2-way audio device. The Patient Monitor is responsible for communicating with patients, notifying clinical staff of any changes in patient condition or safety risks, and documenting observations related to patient activities, behaviors, and safety/comfort issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- BLS Provider preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide observation and surveillance of assigned patients.
- Monitor patients by use of video monitors.
- Communicate and/or instruct patients by use of 2-way audio device.
- Notify clinical staff of any changes in patient condition and/or safety risk level.
- Complete documentation of observations of patient activities, patient behaviors and other safety & comfort related issues.
