About The Position

The Patient Logistics RN coordinates the transfer center activities for Dignity Health facilities in collaboration with others to include, hospital administration, nursing leadership or their designee, medical staff, physicians and transportation vendors. The Patient Logistics RN functions as the liaison between referring hospitals into and between Dignity Health facilities to coordinate the transfer and admission of patients to hospitals. Participates in all activities, meetings, calls, and education to facilitate transfers from all points of entry to the acute hospital setting. The Patient Logistics RN bases facility designation on diagnoses, planned procedure and level of care requirements and acuity.

Requirements

• One year recent acute care experience required.
• RN with 3 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting, with at least one year in emergency and/or critical care.
• Background in Utilization Management.
• Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement.
• Experience using electronic bed management systems, preferably TeleTracking.
• Experience in Patient Flow management.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Competent in select psychomotor skills.
• Knowledge of current nursing techniques, principles, and practice.
• Working knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Current AZ State RN license in good standing required.

Nice To Haves

• Background in Neurology/Neurosurgical and Cardiology.

Responsibilities
