About The Position
The Insurance Advocate enrolls patients in ACA Marketplace plans. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is fully on-site, with required presence at the assigned hospital facilities: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Titusville, and Tuesday and Thursday in New Smyrna. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- 1-2 years related experience
- Computer proficient
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and active auto insurance
- Must complete hospital medical clearance and required vaccinations
- All candidates must successfully pass a national background check and a 12-panel drug screening.
Nice To Haves
- some college preferred
- Knowledge of ACA marketplace, Medicaid, & commercial insurance terms preferred
- EMR/EHR experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Contact patients to assess financial and medical eligibility for coverage
- Enroll patients in ACA marketplace plans and obtain required documentation
- Guide patients through the enrollment process and assist with case issues
- Perform bedside screenings when necessary
- Manage a high volume of outreach calls
- Document all activity in HealthFund Solutions, Hospital databases, and EMR systems
- Stay up to date on ACA policies, procedures and certification requirements
- Provide accurate and timely data to support reporting and tracking needs
