About The Position

The Patient Host or Hostess assists patients with the menu selection process to ensure they receive appropriate nutrition-related items. This involves interacting with patients to collect food selections, editing and entering these selections into a computer system, and verifying proper dietetic physician orders. The role also requires utilizing proper food handling and storage techniques during the assembly of patient trays, as well as when receiving, rotating, and storing food. Key responsibilities include delivering and retrieving food carts according to the tray delivery schedule and maintaining and assembling floor stock.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or working towards completion.

Nice To Haves

• Three months to one year food and nutrition experience.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients to collect appropriate food selection.
• Edits and enters selection into the computer system and verifies proper dietetic physician orders.
• Utilizes proper food handling and food storage techniques when assembling patient trays and when receiving, rotating, and storing food.
• Delivers and retrieves food carts and ensures that patient trays are delivered in accordance with the tray delivery schedule.
• Maintains and assembles the floor stock.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
