About The Position

Massive Bio is seeking a Patient Growth Manager to lead the engine that finds cancer patients and brings them into clinical trials. This role is distinctive because it begins the enrollment process earlier than traditional methods, by finding patients, determining their eligibility for open studies, and supporting them through to the institution that can treat them. The individual in this role will own the patient growth and enrollment funnel end-to-end, including identification, outreach, qualification, site referral, screening, consent, and randomization. They will collaborate with internal teams (clinical operations, technology, provider engagement) and external stakeholders (sites, sponsors, CROs, site networks) to drive throughput, remove friction, and ensure growth is managed effectively. This is an operations leadership role focused on enrollment outcomes and the processes behind them, with the expectation of building and managing a team of Project Managers as volume scales.

Requirements

  • Direct, hands-on experience finding and enrolling patients into clinical trials; personally run recruitment campaigns, built physician referral pathways, or worked outbound patient outreach.
  • Oncology experience; comfortable with cancer indications, biomarkers, lines of therapy, and patient eligibility for trials.
  • Working knowledge of how a clinical trial actually runs, including protocols, eligibility criteria, screening and consent, site workflow, and common slowdowns.
  • Track record of driving enrollment numbers rather than just reporting them.
  • 5+ years leading operational delivery in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, with significant time spent in clinical trials, patient recruitment, or healthcare services.
  • Experience owning a conversion funnel or delivery pipeline end-to-end, including measuring drop-off, identifying bottlenecks, and improving throughput systematically.
  • Track record of scaling an operational function in a fast-growing organization, including building repeatable processes, reducing cycle times, and increasing capacity efficiently.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple external partners (sites, vendors, clients, regulatory bodies) and internal teams across countries, cultures, and time zones.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to build dashboards, work in Excel, present in PowerPoint, and make data-driven operational decisions.
  • Structured project management discipline with the ability to run multiple parallel workstreams to deadline without dropping balls.
  • High energy and comfort with ambiguity; suitable for a startup environment building a new function.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a patient recruitment company, clinical trial matching platform, site network, or integrated research organization.
  • Direct-to-patient marketing or paid patient acquisition experience.
  • Experience building referral relationships with community oncologists or academic centers.
  • Background in operational value creation, management consulting, industrial engineering, or private equity portfolio operations.
  • Experience with AI-powered platforms or health technology.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Own the patient growth and enrollment funnel end-to-end: identification, outreach, qualification, site referral, screening, consent, and randomization.
  • Work across internal teams (clinical operations, technology, provider engagement) and external stakeholders (sites, sponsors, CROs, site networks) to drive throughput and remove friction.
  • Own enrollment outcomes and the processes behind them.
  • Build and manage a team of Project Managers to expand delivery capacity as volume scales.

Benefits

  • Direct line to C-level and co-founders.
  • Opportunity to hire and lead your own team within 12-18 months.
  • Room to own an outcome and be trusted to achieve it.
