About The Position

The Patient Greeter welcomes and assists patients, their families, and visitors entering the clinics. This role involves answering questions, providing information, and directing individuals to their correct clinic locations, fostering a welcoming, caring, and 'Como Familia' atmosphere. The position requires maintaining the highest level of customer service, exercising tact and courtesy, and adhering to customer service expectations in both in-person and virtual communications. Proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred. Strong organizational skills are essential. The role may involve travel to other GMG locations, and may require driving a company or personal vehicle, necessitating a motor vehicle history check, a valid Texas Driver License, and proof of insurance for mileage reimbursement.

Requirements

  • Ensures customer service is always maintained at the highest level.
  • Exercise tact and courtesy when dealing with patients, visitors, providers, and co-workers.
  • Must always adhere to customer service expectations including in-person and virtual (via telephone, or telehealth applications) communication.
  • Strong organizational skills are a requirement in this position.
  • Ability to utilize computer-based systems for training as well as clocking in and out for shifts and lunch breaks.

Nice To Haves

  • English and Spanish proficiency preferred.
  • Experience in a clinic, doctor’s office or hospital with a minimum of one-year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cordially greets visitors and patients upon arrival and ascertains their needs, directing them accordingly.
  • Requires prolonged standing and walking throughout the assigned shift.
  • Aids patients and visitors by obtaining wheelchairs or other services as needed, and escorts or transports those needing assistance within the clinic.
  • Assists patients who require minimal physical assistance with entering or exiting vehicles; refers patients needing additional support to the clinical team.
  • Assists patients in arranging transportation as needed.
  • Keeps the front driveway clear and unobstructed for patient and visitor drop-off and pick-up.
  • Contacts Security, Environmental Services, or Facilities Management for assistance when necessary.
  • Monitors the overall appearance of the clinic entrance.
  • Transports patients safely from sitting to standing or lying down, and from standing to sitting, and pushes/pulls patients in wheelchairs.
  • Maintains patient safety as a priority, including preventing potential falls.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
