About The Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Financial Services Representative to guide the client billing experience at Paradigm/Ridge Treatment Centers. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical billing and patient financial responsibilities. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between patients and our clinical teams, ensuring accurate financial processing, insurance coordination, and exceptional customer service to support our clients’ treatment journey.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on financial services or billing support.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare billing procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple accounts simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, insurance providers, and team members.
- Proficiency in office software applications and electronic health record systems.
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting medical administrative functions within a mental health or behavioral health environment is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with financial inquiries related to their treatment plans, insurance coverage, and billing processes.
- Verify patient insurance information and obtain pre-authorizations or referrals as needed to facilitate seamless billing procedures.
- Prioritize and collect payments accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing purposes.
- Maintain detailed records of patient accounts, payment histories, and insurance claims in our management system.
- Follow up on outstanding balances or denied claims promptly (via email and by phone) to optimize revenue cycle management.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns timely, professionally, and empathetically.
- Escalate unresolved or high-risk accounts appropriately.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
