Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or finance is a plus
- Prior experience in patient financial services, medical billing, or related healthcare roles
- Strong knowledge of insurance processes, billing procedures, and healthcare regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with billing inquiries, payment options, and insurance questions
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Collect payments and process financial transactions accurately
- Explain billing statements and resolve billing discrepancies
- Collaborate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to facilitate claims processing
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient financial records
- Follow up on outstanding accounts and implement collection procedures when necessary
- Educate patients on financial policies and available assistance programs
