About The Position

We are seeking a high-performing Patient Financial Services Manager to provide operational leadership over our healthcare revenue-cycle functions. You will be responsible for the overall management of accounts receivables, developing strategies to improve cash flow, and leading a team dedicated to back-end billing excellence. This role is a vital link between finance, clinical operations, and information technology, ensuring that our organization remains financially healthy so we can continue our mission of helping children and families. This is a Hybrid position with three days a week in the office in our Olathe corporate location and two days a week remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of substantive healthcare RCM experience, including 3+ years of progressive leadership and supervisory experience within back-end billing.
  • In lieu of a degree, we will accept: 8+ years of healthcare RCM experience (hospital or physician office), 5+ years of RCM leadership/supervisory experience, and 3+ years specifically leading back-end billing operations.
  • Demonstrated competency in payer processes, denial management, operational analytics, regulatory compliance, and process improvement.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

  • Mastery of medical billing terminology and reimbursement methodologies for government and commercial payers.
  • Advanced computer skills including practice management software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and basic algebra.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present information to diverse stakeholder groups and write detailed business correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for billing, claims processing, payment activity, and denial management.
  • Develop and implement controls and policies to ensure accurate accounts receivable balances and timely collections.
  • Analyze financial trends and reports to identify systemic barriers to reimbursement and present corrective action plans.
  • Monitor aged accounts receivable and payment discrepancies to improve RCM performance.
  • Supervise, train, and develop direct reporting staff to foster professional growth and knowledge redundancy.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow automation and work closely with IT to optimize practice management systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with HIPAA, CMS, IRS, and other regulatory requirements.
