About The Position

This position is responsible for following up on self-pay accounts, providing patient billing support, and performing patient financial counseling. The role involves reviewing accounts, researching insurance information, making payment arrangements, and identifying accounts eligible for financial assistance. Additionally, the position handles pre-collect and early collection activities, payroll deduction accounts, liability billing follow-up, and provides in-person and telephone support to patients regarding their accounts. The role also includes department coverage, cross-training, and participation in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness.

Requirements

  • Previous office experience
  • Proficient use of typewrite (40 wpm), computers and calculators
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Able to establish priorities
  • High school graduate

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
