Performs receptionist, registration, and clerical duties associated with registering patients for inpatient and outpatient services. This role involves verifying insurance benefits, obtaining necessary pre-certifications or authorizations, and accepting required payments. The representative will also round with patients to ensure an excellent patient experience, follow up on reported issues, and assist with service recovery. Additionally, they will meet with surgical/procedural patients or their caregivers to exchange information, provide pre-procedure instructions, address concerns, and schedule patient/family surgical conferences. The role requires reviewing patient charts to ensure imaging and pertinent information are available, communicating with referring physician offices and clinical departments to coordinate care, and assisting with surgical orders. Building relationships with physicians, OR staff, and insurance representatives is crucial for facilitating scheduling duties, and the representative will manage physician calendars and work the incoming referral queue daily. Assistance with appointments in other specialist offices, general clerical duties, front/back desk support, and scheduling appointments are also part of the responsibilities. The role includes assisting patients with MyChart activations and Telehealth visits.
