About The Position

The Patient Financial Representative will assist patients with account questions, process payments, and set up payment contracts. This role also involves assisting employees with payment resolution, completing Good Faith Estimates, and processing Financial Assistance and Indigent Care applications. The representative will manage task worklists and reports related to patient balances and discounts, provide backup for cashier duties including deposit processing and cash handling, and participate in educational activities and staff meetings. Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to hospital policies, including HIPAA guidelines, is crucial. The position is located in an office setting and requires occasional travel.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (May be allowed to sign a GED agreement to obtain within 6-months)

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients from walk ins or phone with account questions
  • Process patient payments
  • Complete patient payment contracts and set up recurring card payments when necessary
  • Assist employees with payment resolution by payment in full or payroll deduction
  • Complete Good Faith Estimates as needed
  • Assist patients with Financial Assistance applications and process applications for approval or denial
  • Assist patients with Indigent Care applications/process
  • Complete task worklist assigned by Trubridge Outsourcing Team or onsite team members
  • Complete various worklists/reports related to patient balance and applying appropriate discounts
  • Provide back up to cashier in processing daily deposits, mailpaid completion and handling cash/safe protocol
  • Participating in educational activities and staff meetings when necessary.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adheres to all hospital policies, including HIPPA guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
