About The Position

The Patient Financial Representative’s main focus is to obtain maximum and appropriate reimbursement for all claims from government and third-party payers. The role prepares and submits timely, accurate insurance claims; assists with implementing payer regulations and ensuring regulatory compliance; and verifies that payments and adjustments are appropriately applied to accounts according to government, contract, or other regulations and agreements. The representative follows up on accounts pending payment from government and third-party payers, as well as self-pay accounts. The role also provides financial counseling before registration, during registration, and after patient discharge. Responsibilities include preparing, keying, and balancing BBC’s charges, adjustments, lockbox, reversals, credit balances, and other source documents.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
One year of previous office experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the listed tasks, knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
