About The Position

The Patient Financial Representative’s main focus is to obtain maximum and appropriate reimbursement for claims from government and third-party payers. The role prepares and submits timely, accurate insurance claims; assists with implementation of payer regulations and compliance with regulatory requirements; and verifies that payments and adjustments are appropriately applied to accounts according to government, contract, or other regulations and agreements. The representative follows up on accounts pending payment from government and third-party payers, as well as self-pay accounts, and provides financial counseling before registration, at registration, and after discharge. The position also prepares, keys, and balances BBC’s charges, adjustments, lockbox, reversals, credit balances, and other source documents.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
One year of previous office experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the tasks, knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Patient accounts or insurance billing experience is preferred.
