The Patient Financial Advocate is responsible for screening patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs either bedside or in the ER. This includes providing information and reports to client contact(s), keeping them current on our progress. The role involves identifying self-pay patients, screening them for various assistance programs, initiating the application process, and providing information about Firstsource services. The advocate also facilitates transitions to backend specialists, documents all interactions, and may conduct home visits for out-patient/ER accounts. Additional duties include maintaining positive working relationships with hospital staff, reporting occurrences, accessing patient information, keeping logs, meeting goals, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to company policies and compliance programs.
