About The Position

Interested in starting a career in healthcare and love helping others? Join us at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital as a Full-Time Patient & Family Concierge (PFC) in our HVI Holding Area. This role offers a meaningful way to make a difference for patients and families by enhancing their hospital experience from arrival to discharge.
As a Patient and Family Concierge, you will support the daily operations of the cath holding area by coordinating patient admissions, maintaining accurate medical records, facilitating communication among healthcare team members, and providing excellent customer service to patients and families. This role helps ensure efficient workflow while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts. No weekends or holidays. Starting pay is $19.00/hour, with final title and rate based on experience and education.
Note: This role does NOT involve clinical tasks such as bathing, mobility assistance, or administering medical care

Requirements

• High school diploma, or active enrollment in a high school/GED program, or one year of previous work experience in lieu of a diploma/GED
• Must demonstrate compassion, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to provide an exceptional experience for patients and families at all times
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Act 34

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in healthcare or customer service is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients and visitors in a professional manner.
• Putting charts together for outpatients and inpatients.
• answering and directing incoming phone calls.
• Notifying all medical staff that a patient has arrived.
• Assisting with data entry for patient charges.
• Maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA regulations.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
