About The Position

MedQuest Imaging, a partner of Novant Health, is seeking dynamic individuals for their Breast Imaging Center. MedQuest is a premier manager of outpatient diagnostic imaging facilities, dedicated to team member growth and development. This role is full-time, Monday-Friday, at the Novant Health Imaging Southpark Mammography facility in Charlotte.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience in a related field
  • Ability to understand basic medical terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience and competency in customer relation skills in a professional environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and is self-directed.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Basic medical terminology.
  • Exemplary keyboarding skills and experience in patient registration systems and familiarity with personal computers.
  • Basic knowledge of hospital performed procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling of all procedures, registration activities, gathering and processing of patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Securing complete and authenticated signed orders for scheduled procedures.
  • Capturing and entering high quality patient demographic and financial information via telephone interviews and hard copy documentation or direct patient contact.
  • Adapting interview process to the age of the patient/family member.
  • Entering all information gathered into the system.
  • Coordinating with insurance verification and pre-certification to ensure appropriate referral information is obtained prior to or during the scheduled appointment.
  • Assisting patients with billing issues and questions about insurance coverage.
  • Assisting unsponsored patients with procedure changes.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of insurance carriers requiring prior authorization for procedures.
  • Coordinating schedules with other physician appointments, outside referrals and/or therapy.
  • Working with center staff to coordinate STAT add-on exams.
  • Maintaining scheduling knowledge and requirements for procedures.
  • Seeking out relevant training or cross training from supervisor.
  • Seeking out guidance from supervisor and teammates when uncertain of procedure.
  • Soliciting feedback from the supervisor/manager to assess the quality and effectiveness of work.
  • Demonstrating a personal commitment to continuous quality improvement through active participation and ongoing dialogue with the supervisor/manager.
  • Organizing and managing time effectively to optimize productivity.
  • Meeting departmental scheduling and quality goals in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Accepting change in a positive manner and implementing change with positive results.
  • Demonstrating a positive image at all times.
  • Maintaining composure in difficult situations.
  • Using best judgment to resolve patient problems or refer issues to department supervisor/manager.
  • Answering phone calls from outside clinicians requesting information.
  • Taking requests from referring physicians scheduling procedures.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
