About The Position

The Patient Experience Coordinator works in a dynamic, growing, fast-paced oral surgery practice. The role ensures patients’ needs are met and supports an outstanding office experience, serving as a point of contact for referrals and guiding patients through the process from start to finish. The practice’s team includes oral and maxillofacial surgeons dedicated to providing outstanding patient care and service.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience working in a medical or dental office.
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information using a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Office products.
Comfort with and ability to quickly learn new software programs and electronic medical records (EMR).

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience as a patient care or medical office coordinator, including patient scheduling, insurance verification and billing, and collections.
Experience with medical or dental insurance, ICD-10 coding, data entry, and appointment or surgery scheduling.
Experience with financial counseling in a medical office.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service, prioritizing the patient.
Answer telephone calls, respond to inquiries, direct callers to appropriate personnel, or create new patient appointments.
Confirm patient appointments and provide instructions needed before initial appointments.
Contact patients about benefits, co-pays, and coverage information for outpatient procedures.
Respond to third-party payer requests for additional information in a timely manner.
Coordinate baseline benefit verification or self-pay payment options for new patients.
Coordinate with coworkers and other offices to verify referrals and radiography.
