About The Position
Join Our Team as a Patient Escort I – Day Shift (Part-Time) Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference in a healthcare setting? We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Patient Escort I to join our team and support patient care by ensuring safe and timely transportation throughout the hospital. This position has a starting rate of $17.32 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred.
- 2 years of customer service experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Must be able to obtain BLS certification upon hire.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods
- Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
- Knowledge of hospital layout and body mechanics
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients via stretcher, wheelchair, bed, or specialized vehicle to and from various hospital departments.
- Assist clinical staff with patient transfers.
- Maintain and care for transport equipment.
- Attend training sessions and departmental meetings.
- Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.
