The Patient Education Liaison (PEL) is a key field-based member of the U.S. Rare Diseases Patient Support Services team. The PEL upholds the patient-focused mission by building expertise across five diseases and seven brands. They are responsible for delivering comprehensive disease and product education and personalized support to patients and families across the Sanofi Rare Disease portfolio. This role ensures that patients are well informed and supported throughout their journey. In addition to supporting patients, the PEL establishes and maintains strong working relationships with healthcare professionals, primarily the center coordinating genetic counselors or registered nurses, infusion nurses and other ancillary staff. The PEL works collaboratively in a complex team environment with numerous internal cross-functional groups to help facilitate and optimize patient care. Beyond the core clinical and education mission, the PEL is also responsible for understanding market conditions that impact the patient journey (i.e., payer, government, Pharma, industry, access) and understanding rare disease competitive products. The PEL engages in account strategy and planning discussions with cross-functional partners to advise on the patient perspective, while partnering closely with Case Managers to own the execution of any patient support initiatives. PELs continually and compliantly gather patient insights back to ensure the team provides the right support at the right time. Join the team transforming care for people with immune challenges, rare diseases, cancers, and neurological conditions. In Specialty Care, you’ll help deliver breakthrough treatments that bring hope to patients with some of the highest unmet needs.
