About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Patient Dining Manager for Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono, a 230-bed hospital campus with more than 215 physicians on medical staff. This leader will oversee all patient feeding operations and play a key role in delivering a positive, consistent patient dining experience across the hospital. In this highly visible role, you will lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 40 frontline employees while collaborating closely with nursing and clinical teams to enhance patient satisfaction and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • A passion for delivering an exceptional patient dining experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop union frontline teams
  • Prior healthcare food service management experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service and professional communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience analyzing patient satisfaction metrics and implementing performance improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • ServSafe Manager Certification required
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years minimum management experience
  • 2 years minimum functional experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage daily patient feeding operations, including tray line execution and meal delivery processes
  • Lead, mentor, and develop frontline union staff to ensure high engagement and accountability
  • Foster a culture of hospitality and service excellence focused on patient satisfaction
  • Analyze patient satisfaction data and implement action plans to drive continuous improvement
  • Serve as liaison between nursing units and the dietary department to address patient menu and meal concerns
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, regulatory, food safety, and workplace safety standards
  • Train and coach staff on food safety, sanitation, and service expectations
  • Manage scheduling, staffing, and operational priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
