About The Position

Morrison Healthcare is hiring a full-time Patient Dining Associate (Dietary Aide) at AH Heart of Florida in Davenport, Florida. The fixed pay rate is $18.00 per hour, and training is available. Schedule days and hours may vary.

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility as part of the caregiving team. They help patients make menu selections, assemble, deliver, and retrieve meal trays, and support patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and served at the right time and temperature. The role also involves coordinating with nursing, caregivers, culinary staff, and dietitians to address nutritional requirements, food sensitivities, and patient concerns.

The position requires following food safety, infection control, confidentiality, patient rights, and sanitation procedures, as well as applicable regulatory standards. Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand menu selections and coordinate with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Work with caregivers and the culinary team to identify menu alternatives for patients with food allergies or sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences, or requests for additional selections.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to patient selections accurately and promptly; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO requirements, and follow facility confidentiality and patient rights policies under HIPAA.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning workstations, and breaking down the patient tray line.
• Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians, including helping monitor patients who cannot eat by mouth, are on liquid diets, or have a specific calorie count to manage.
• Communicate patient problems or concerns to appropriate personnel promptly and according to department procedures.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
