About The Position

MedQuest Imaging, a partner of Novant Health, is seeking dynamic individuals for a PRN Patient Coordinator position. This role offers ultimate flexibility, with shifts scheduled two weeks to a month in advance, supporting the team during PTO and coverage needs. While not providing full-time hours, it's an excellent opportunity to gain experience, stay active in the field, and enjoy a dynamic workflow. The role offers variety, with potential for one to three days of work per week, making it ideal for those seeking flexibility, balance, and schedule control. The position is located at Novant Health Imaging South Asheville and requires attendance at 7 days of training during the week (M-F). This role has the opportunity to advance to a full-time position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0 - 2+ years of experience working in a customer support role or hospitality field
  • Strong customer service background and focus
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge and ability to perform accurately and efficiently on computer
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to attend 7 days of training during the week (M-F).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a physician practice or other type of medical services office
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Prior patient collections experience in a medical setting
  • Medical records experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact with patients, referring physicians, and the general public on the imaging center’s behalf.
  • Welcome all patients and their family members into the imaging center.
  • Make patients and all visitors feel comfortable.
  • Anticipate and attend to the needs of our patients.
  • Check patients in.
  • Answer the telephone and route incoming calls to the appropriate party.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Collect balances from patients’ financial responsibility at time of service.
  • Perform other front office/desk duties as necessary.
