The Redlands Chamber of CommerceRedlands, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Inland Maternity Center is a busy, mission-driven practice supporting new parents through one of the most tender chapters of their lives. We're looking for a warm, organized, and steady Patient Coordinator to be the welcoming face of our front desk and the operational backbone that keeps our clinic running smoothly. If you genuinely light up around new parents and babies, take pride in a calm and well-run space, and have the kind of attention to detail that catches a missing intake form before it becomes a problem - we'd love to meet you.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of prior experience in a medical, dental, or wellness front-desk role with references
  • Experience with insurance verification and basic medical billing concepts
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools, email, and standard office software
  • Reliability, punctuality, and availability for the stated schedule including occasional weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a perinatal, OB/GYN, lactation, midwifery, pediatric, or women's health setting
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Genuine warmth toward new parents and babies
  • Calm under pressure
  • Detail-oriented and proactive
  • Discretion with sensitive medical and personal information
  • A team player who pitches in wherever needed

Responsibilities

  • Greet families warmly, check patients in and out, room them for their appointments, and keep the waiting area clean, calm, and inviting.
  • Refill snacks and beverages, process in-clinic product purchases, and make every family feel cared for from the moment they arrive.
  • Book, reschedule, and confirm appointments.
  • Answer calls and texts promptly.
  • Coordinate provider schedules to balance availability and patient flow.
  • Send appointment reminders and follow-ups.
  • Triage urgent patient needs and coordinate with our perinatal specialist to get them in sooner when clinically appropriate.
  • Input new patients into our charting system.
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility, confirm coverage on file is current at each visit, and make sure intake forms are completed before appointments - following up with patients who haven't yet done so.
  • Sterilize and put away supplies between patients, restock exam rooms and workstations, monitor inventory, and help providers stay on time.
  • Keep an eye on patient messages to ensure providers are responding within expected timeframes.
  • Navigate difficult moments with empathy and professionalism, escalate appropriately to clinical leadership, and anticipate issues before they snowball.

Benefits

  • Health insurance options available with employer contribution
  • Access to CalSavers retirement program
  • One week of paid vacation after one year of employment
  • Paid sick leave in accordance with California law (40 hours)
