Indiana University Health System•Indianapolis, IN

About The Position

This part-time, day-shift Patient Care Technician position is in the Adult Critical Care Unit at University. As a bedside caregiver, the technician provides a positive patient experience by anticipating patient needs, including providing drinks, assisting with meal ordering, encouraging walking, helping with baths, and providing clean linens and gowns. The role calls for compassion, a caring bedside manner, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The technician provides clinical assistance to bedside registered nurses by obtaining vital signs and reporting abnormalities or changes in patient behavior to the primary RN or charge nurse so that problems can be detected and treated promptly. Other advanced life support certifications may be required depending on unit or department specialty and patient care policies. IU Health states that the role includes a competitive pay, development opportunities, and tuition reimbursement, along with an outstanding benefits package for part-time and full-time positions.
