About The Position

Provides patient-related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in the independent unit. Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to a licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to care delivered. Works in the Telemetry Unit at Thompson Peak Medical Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. This is a part-time day-shift position consisting of two 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM. Shift and weekend coverage are self-scheduled; scheduled workdays may vary, with no set or fixed days. Weekend and holiday rotations are required. Weekend, evening, and night shift differentials are offered where applicable.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Completion of Block 1 in Nursing, or qualification as a Medical Assistant (MA), Nursing Assistant (NA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), or six months of experience in a healthcare setting within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

Six months of acute care experience.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT) license.

Responsibilities

Provide and collaborate on direct patient care services under the direct supervision of a licensed caregiver. Duties may include personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed by a nurse.
Assist, observe, and report changes in patient condition to a licensed caregiver, and maintain accurate medical record documentation related to care delivered.
Address and/or direct questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
