The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation, and supply management across various hospital units, including the Float/Flex Pool. Under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director, PCTs maintain unit cleanliness and organization. They may also perform administrative tasks such as answering telephones, addressing patient inquiries within their capabilities, and performing data entry. Specific roles include assisting discharged patients with logistics and resource utilization, and in the Labor Delivery and Post Partum Breastfeeding Center, managing breastpump rentals, supplies, and providing telephone triage for breastfeeding families. The Float/Flex Pool PCT may be assigned to any unit, change departments during a shift, or act as a Patient Safety Attendant, requiring completion of specific documentation. This position is on-site only and requires adherence to all Northern Arizona Healthcare policies and procedures. PCTs perform or assist with procedures within their scope of practice and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, potentially caring for patients of all age groups.
