About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital member of a collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses with hands-on patient care and helping maintain a safe, welcoming environment. The PCT assists patients with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, and helps RNs monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans. The role calls for attention, empathy, and teamwork to promote patients’ comfort and dignity.

Requirements

Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
Obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
