About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) will work in the Free Standing Emergency Department and will perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision. This role involves assisting doctors, nurses, and other medical staff in implementing each patient’s plan of care by performing clinical procedures and other tasks within the scope of practice. The PCT will also assist with patient observation, gather data, identify patient care needs, and document patient information accurately in medical records. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examination and treatment, collecting specimens, setting up and operating medical equipment, and helping with patient transportation. Additionally, the PCT will maintain cleanliness and organization within the Emergency Department, adhering to infection control standards, and ensuring supplies and equipment are readily available. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

Completion of technician education in a specific area and specialty e.g. EMT-Basic EMT-Paramedic or PCT (patient care technician) preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Emergency Department, adhering to infection control standards. Replenish supplies and ensure necessary equipment is readily available.
