About The Position

Under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, the Patient Care Technician performs specific duties that support patient care, including direct and indirect care activities essential to maintaining a safe and efficient care environment. The position performs selected interventions and activities to help provide comprehensive care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. Working with the care team, the Patient Care Technician also helps ensure a positive patient experience. The role takes place in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities and requires flexibility in scheduling. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder, based on experience, skillsets, and certifications held. On-site training is provided.

Requirements

No experience required; training is provided on-site.
Successful completion of PCT-specific Hartford HealthCare orientation.
Obtain an American Heart Association (AHA) Certified BLS Provider credential within two months (60 days) of hire or job transfer.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Some relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Certified BLS Provider credential.
Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA to be eligible for advancement in the PCT clinical ladder.
