About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital member of the collaborative nursing team and supports Registered Nurses in providing hands-on patient care. The role helps create a safe, welcoming environment and assists with patients’ daily needs, including vital signs, mobility, and personal care. The PCT helps nurses monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans, contributing through attention, empathy, and teamwork to patient comfort and dignity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
