About The Position

The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to the delivery of patient care in the assigned department under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The role is in the Cardiac/Med Surg department and is a full-time night position.

Requirements

• Meet one of the listed qualification pathways: hold active Florida licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic; qualify as a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or hold national EMT licensure, maintained active during employment.
• Alternatively, nursing students eligible for the CNA exam must be enrolled in or have graduated from an accredited RN/LPN nursing school; if enrolled, must have completed the first semester of clinical for an ASN/BSN degree or the first trimester for an LPN program; and must not currently be licensed in the U.S. as an RN or LPN.
• Alternatively, provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board-approved PCT or CNA program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.
• Employees hired without the specified licensure and/or based on years of experience only before 11/11/19 are grandfathered in and may obtain the stipulated licensure.
• High school diploma, GED, or certificate.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification.
• Undergo background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

• Working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
