About The Position

The Patient Care Technician provides selected patient care activities under the direction of an RN. The role requires excellent customer service and teamwork, recognizing and reporting changes in patient condition, assisting with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, and responding compassionately and promptly to patient requests and call lights. The schedule is 0645–1915.

Requirements

Current Kansas Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification, completion of a Medical Assistant program (CMA), current EMT training certification, or completion of one year of nursing school.
Current BLS certification.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work as a team player.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care in accordance with treatment plans and as directed by the charge nurse, RN, or nursing director.
Accompany patients to treatments throughout the facility.
Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
Perform and assist with patient lifts, transfers, positioning, and ambulation.
Observe, report, and document questionable patient conditions to the RN on duty.
Assist with patient meals and bathing as directed.
Provide nursing care according to the population served on the unit and the Administrative, Scope of Services Policy.
Comply with laws and regulations for maintaining patient information.
Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Respond compassionately and promptly to patient requests and call lights.
