About The Position

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital - Tucson, in partnership with Select Medical, is hiring a full-time Patient Care Technician for night shifts. The role works 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 7:00. Compensation is $19.32–$24.50 per hour, based on years of experience.

The inpatient rehabilitation hospital provides care for individuals facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs routine patient-care and assistance tasks and documents care provided.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hospital experience as a patient care technician or nursing assistant, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting, or active enrollment as a nursing student.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient-care and assistance tasks and document care provided under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Transport patients to and from treatment areas as necessary and assist with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Assist patients with dressing, showering, bathing, and oral feeding.
• Answer patient lights and provide services in a timely manner to support patients’ physical well-being.
• Participate in patient turning and repositioning and perform purposeful hourly rounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
