About The Position
The Patient Care Technician II works under the general supervision of an RN and provides basic nursing care to in-patients and out-patients as needed within the assigned area. The technician collects and reports information to the supervising RN and completes patient-care-related documentation. This position is at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California, and is full-time, working 12-hour night shifts.
Requirements
- For hires after October 31, 2016, completion of a CNA program, the first semester of a nursing program, or an EMT program (EMT program completion applies to hires in Emergency Services).
- Upon hire, hold a California Nursing Assistant Certification License or, for Emergency Services, a California Emergency Medical Technician License.
- Upon hire, hold National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience with basic data entry.
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of a dysrhythmia course, ability to pass a rhythm recognition exam, one year of acute patient care experience, or six months of direct patient-care experience providing clerical support related to provider or patient documentation or charting.
- EKG training.
