About The Position

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is hiring Patient Care Technicians for its Med Surg, Oncology, Ortho / Spine, Cardiac Telemetry, Surgical, and Telemetry / Stroke units. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Patient Care Technicians provide patient care and clinical and administrative support through a variety of multi-skilled services. The position operates in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities and requires flexibility in scheduling. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder based on experience, skillsets, and certifications.

Requirements

• No experience required; training is provided on-site.
• Successfully complete PCT-specific HHC orientation.
• Obtain an American Heart Association (AHA)-credentialed Certified BLS Provider credential within 2 months (60 days) of hire or job transfer.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Some relevant experience in an acute-care hospital environment.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA)-credentialed Certified BLS Provider credential.
• Certification as a C-PCT/A, EMT, or CMA for eligibility for advancement in the PCT clinical ladder.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
