About The Position

Hartford Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for its Heart and Vascular Institute. Under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, the Patient Care Technician performs specific duties that support patient care, including direct and indirect activities essential to maintaining a safe and efficient care environment. The role carries out selected interventions and activities to provide comprehensive care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. In collaboration with the care team, the technician also helps ensure a positive patient experience. This is a high-activity work environment with multiple priorities and a need for scheduling flexibility. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder based on experience, skillsets, and certifications.

Requirements

• Complete the Patient Care Technician-specific Hartford HealthCare orientation.
• Obtain an American Heart Association (AHA) Certified BLS Provider credential within 60 days of hire or job transfer.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Some relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Certified BLS Provider credential.
• Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA for eligibility to advance in the Patient Care Technician clinical ladder.
