PCT (Patient Care Tech)
About The Position
Seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patient care in a fast-paced Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Ideal candidates should have strong acute care experience, excellent teamwork skills, and the ability to work with high-acuity patients transitioning from ICU-level care. This role involves supporting patient care in a stepdown setting with a patient population including post-ICU patients, post-stroke and post-cardiac arrest patients, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and critical care stepdown patients, as well as patients requiring telemetry monitoring and higher-acuity observation.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of acute care PCT experience
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) via NHA required
- Strong communication and patient care skills
Responsibilities
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Provide A.M./P.M. patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Perform EKGs, bladder scans, and blood glucose checks
- Monitor patient outputs and assist with patient care needs
- Restock supplies and assist nursing staff with unit operations
- Support safe and efficient patient care in a stepdown setting
