About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate or Bachelor's degree
At least 1 year work experience in a .6 FTE PCT I position at MUSC CHS
1 year of experience in a healthcare facility
Active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution
Active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution
Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution
Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire.
Must maintain Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
